Manager Reporting & Accounting

For our Finance department, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on, and analytically strong professional. The Finance department acts as a strategic business partner and is responsible for delivering transparent, timely, and reliable reporting to both management and external stakeholders.

As Manager Reporting & Accounting, you are responsible for preparing and analyzing the financial reports of all entities within the Nitrogen Group. You ensure the consistent application of accounting standards (IFRS) and relevant laws and regulations, support the financial planning and control cycle, and act as a sparring partner for stakeholders.

 

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Prepare monthly financial closings for Nitrogen entities in the Netherlands and abroad, ensuring accurate consolidation and reporting for management and the executive board.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for various (international) entities in accordance with IFRS and Dutch GAAP.
  • Share financial insights with senior management and shareholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IFRS reporting standards and internal policies.
  • As a Record-to-Report expert, drive optimization of processes, systems, and the financial organization.
  • Lead the Reporting & Accounting team, providing guidance and supporting the team’s further development.
  • Maintain close collaboration with headquarters and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems.
  • Organize external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors. Prepare various accounting papers.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including scenario analyses.
  • Contribute to the implementation of CSRD obligations in line with the ESRS.
  • Identify financial risks and support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
  • Advise internal departments on accounting standards and their application.
  • Manage tax related matters and provide guidance to colleagues, with attention to transfer pricing.

 

Who are we looking for

You hold a master’s degree (WO) or Applied Sciences (HBO) degree in Accountancy or Finance & Control. A post-graduate qualification such as RC or RA is considered a strong advantage. You bring at least eight years of relevant work experience, preferably gained in an international and industrial environment.

Your expertise includes a solid understanding of IFRS and income tax regulations, as well as experience with external audits. You are well-versed in SAP and SAP BPC, and have a strong grasp of consolidation processes.

Analytically strong and result-oriented, you demonstrate a proactive approach to challenges and continuous improvement. You have proven leadership capabilities and are skilled in developing and mentoring accounting professionals.

Finally, you possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English, enabling you to operate effectively across all levels of the organization and in international contexts.
